The whole time Floyd was walking around the store he kept thinking about what was best for animal. He really did not want to be harsh, that was the opposite of who he was, but he may not have a choice.
On the way home Floyd’s mind was wandering and he wasn’t paying much attention to animal who was supposed to be walking next to him. But just a block away from his house, animal wandered off after something caught his eye.
Floyd walked the rest of the way to his house before he noticed animal was no longer by his side. “Animal?” He called out loud, dropping his bags to the ground he turned around his heart racing “Animal!?” he shouted finding his legs caring him down the street as he shouted out animals name desperate to find him, terrified that something happened to him.
“ANIMAL!!! WHERE ARE YOU?!!” Floyd shouted coming to a screeching halt at the end of the street, searching up and down the street for any sign of his animal. Deciding to go down Central Street Floyd took off running, he swore it felt like he searched for hours when he finally heard a woman scream, and it wasn’t very far away so Floyd ran to where he heard the loud screaming.
He felt his stomach do flip flops when he saw the shocking scene, animal was on the ground he had blood on him and looked bruised. There was a woman towering over him holding a bat, as though she had been hitting him with it, she was crying, her face was white, and she was shaking.
Behind her was a cowering stray dog that looked bruised and battered, shaking his head vigorously “WOAH! STOP!” Floyd shouted jumping over animal so the woman couldn’t hit him anymore, “What the **** is going on!!!” He shouted knocking the young brunet out of her trance, she shook her head a little in fear and spoke shakily
“That-that-that thing! Attacked this poor dog! It just attacked him!” “Is it your dog?” Floyd asked, “No, he’s a stray, he’s been hanging around my house for a while. I was feeding him, when that MONSTER ran up screaming and scared the poor dog out of its mind, well he was trying to eat and snapped at the THING and bit IT. It all happened so fast, and-and…” she trailed off taking a few steps back.
Floyd tried to step forward to help her and the dog but she screamed “NO! Stay back!” Floyd stopped shocked and sympathetic “I won’t hurt you I just want to help.” She shook her head, bending down to take the dog in her arms “Just get the **** out of here! And take that thing with you!!!”
To say Floyd was angry was a complete understatement, he was ticked, and every single word that defined angry. The woman had run off to her car and drove off with the dog, he tried to talk to her and help, but she wouldn’t hear of it.
When she was gone he turned around to face animal finally realizing just how angry he was, animal was whimpering and shaking. Taking a deep breath Floyd gritted his teeth and decided not to say anything at the moment in fear of losing his temper, instead he bent down and picked up animal, deciding to carry him home.
He finally knew what he had to do.
