I'm lucky to have cheaper alternative places then Wal-Mart where I live for students.

Another thought: You say that Palisades hid their magnets well unlike Mattel. Well, if Palisades had cut corners, used cheap material, etc. (like mega-monster corporations like Mattel do), they might still actually be in business, but they didn't. Its a profit-making dog eat dog-with-good-intentions world.
Plus Mattel is a large scale company, and Palisades was an independant business. They took on way too many licenses at once, which hastened their decline. But then again, Palisades charged 15 bucks for quality toys, and Mattel over prices everything to a rediculous extent. No one buys the Mattel stuff, they can stay in business. No one buys the Palisades stuff, they're screwed.

No kidding. What a horrible, soulless place. I heard that they make their employees watch anti-Union videos. Horrible. Yet, I shop there all the time, because I am fairly poor (i.e. student), and us poor folk are forced to suck it up and contribute to their wealth and power because we can't afford to go to Whole Foods every week.
Clearly trying to cause a dependance. I have no respect for a company that gets as many illegal workers as possible and then turns around and sells Bill O'Reily's latest "1000 reasons to be afraid of Brown People who don't speak God's English" clap trap.

The problem is the companies that care have to charge "We Care" prices. So only upper class liberals can shop there. I mean, do you expect "Free Trade" coffe to sell as much as "We raped their land and their women" blend generic stuff? It's all about greedy conglomerates that just want to crush as much Mom and Pop competition, forcing them to gobble up all the jobs so they can pay people minimum Wage, and use the savings to bribe politicos to keep that minimum wage as small as possible.

Even though if you think about it, they could save money buying influence and give people reasonable pay and benifits so they can actually afford to shop at different places thus helping the economy. But hey, anything to keep Teddy Roosevelt spinning around in his grave.

Yeah, I agree with O'Reilly on some things, but I'm not happy that he's such a Wal Mart supporter, heh.

Well it they raise minimum wage then all the big businesses who run everything will just raise the rise of living more anyway. Anything to squeeze every cent out of you. It's like taxes or raises... The more you make, then more you end up paying.:stick_out_tongue: It's not all big business, it's a greedy government, too. They make a lot for ever gallon of gas you buy, too!

Ahem... paid off maybe? I hate political pundints on both sides. Let ME think what I want to think, not take some predigested opinion for the masess.

I know. The conversation never went anywhere and they just never agreed the entire time. It literally sounded just like I bunch of noise. Glad when the commercials came on. I was like, Wow! Those two shut up!

I dunno a bout you, I feel safer with Michael Moore distorting facts than O'Reily distorting facts. At least Michael is closer to some sort of truth with that Healthcare movie. I can't see people calling him liberal. he Hated Clinton. And no Liberal hates Clinton. It's like finding a conservative that doesn't like Bush Sr. He's an angry guy with a camera. That's the extent of his damage. Which isn't much since no one takes him seriously.

O'Reily on the other hand....

I do admire Michael Moore for doing that healthcare movie, and also Roger and Me. I'm just disapointed that he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. Instead of doing real documentaries, he sometimes just makes jokes.

Well, I like that O'Reilly is standing up for children, because it's an issue that keeps getting ignored. But he's very one sided in general on things, and that bothers me.
