M&M's Question

Not exactly

Actually, the story was that red dye # 5 caused cancer. The M & M's always used # 2, even before the facts about # 5 came out, but when the whole thing came out everybody got scared and wouldn't buy anything that was artificially colored red, so even though they never used # 5 the company scrapped the red ones to keep from losing money. Now that red dye # 5 is not being used by anyone for obvious reasons, M & M's has brought back the red M & M's

BTW: the Green M & M was given a sultry personality because of a rumor that Green M & M's were an aphrodisiac, those of you who are under 12 ask your mother what an aphrodisiac is.

Now, I have to get back to putting my m & m's, w & w's and e & e's in abc order. LOL

Thanks, abiraniriba, I knew the controversy turned out to be unfounded, but couldn't recall the details.

I know what that is... that's what Ryan Stiles uses whenever he's around Denny Siegel.

Oh... So that's what it is? Thought it was something to cure him of his celluloids.

BTW: Anybody remember the funny little snipets with the M&M's and Muppets Xerus wrote a while back?

I dunno what color that I would have voted for, but I think that they should have made a character out of that one too. I think they don't have a brown one because of race. Not because they're racist, but because if they have a brown one, they would have the NAACP on their butts about how it acts and how it is depictive of the black man. Remember the Taco Bell dog and Mexicans?

Somehow I always felt the Blue M+M and Green one had African American personalities. At least the Green one was voiced by a black voice actress (Cree Summer... you may know her as Elmyra from Tiny Toons or the first voice of Penny in Inspector Gadget).

I feel they only needed so many talking ones for these promotions. I think orange may be phased out because I don't see crispy M+M's before. Unless they turn him into a regular plain chocolate M+M.

There are many different colors of M+M's but most of them are seasonal (or promotional). Minis have different colors as well. Personally, I was disappointed the Black and White "Help the M+M's get their colors" ones didn't have any greys, but they were still cool.

I have all the figurines of the Star Wars M-pire promotion... and I was dissappointed they didn't do the same for the Pirates of the Carribbean.

But here's something. Remember Tan M+M's? Funny story. Every so often I go by a bakery with fresh baked M+M cookies.... but they have the tan colored ones in them... kinda gross since they abandoned that one for blue some time ago.

Yeah, I already asked that.

I miss crispy M&M's though, they were pretty good!
