What is your "lucky charm" when writing a fanfic? Mine is pretty pathetic, but here it is: I sit and type with a stuffed Fozzie in my lap. Somehow, that's the thing that inspires me the most. Fozzie is my favorite Muppet and my "plushie" of him inspires me to be the best writer I can be. So, what are *your* "lucky charms" when writing fanfics?

Perhaps a better question would be, does anyone else have one?
I don't have one, but then again I've never finished anything I've started, so maybe I should think about getting one...

Basically, here's my ritual at writing fanfics...

1. Go to sleep.
2. Have weird, acid-trippy, Krofft-like dreams, and somewhere deep in the sugar-frosted frights, an idea is born.
3. The next day, I begin writing about what happened in the dream I had.
4. As I write, I cross my legs, lean forward sucking in my gut, grit my teeth as if I'm in pain, in hopes that what I'm writing will go over well with my "audience".
5. I post what I have written and await the verdict of my audience.
6. Become disappointed when I see my fanfics haven't received much of a turnout.
7. I begin to cry in an attempt to get sympathy readings.
8. Become saddened at the realization of the fact that step number seven didn't work.

Um, I don't really know if it's a "good luck charm" but I listen to approiate music when I'm writing.

Like for example:

1) When writing the chunks of "Sadie's Stories" with Eli/Doc Hopper/other villain in mind, I would listen to the gripping songs from the various muppet movies. Villian songs if there are any that I can think of...

2) When writing the parts concerning Scooter and Sara, I would listen to the love songs.

3) For the most part of "Love is Neverending" I basically had "Muppet Family Christmas" songs going on repeat.

Also I had my Scooter plushie sitting beside me on the other desk while typing. (Except for those rare chapters when I wrote from a borrowed laptop at college.)

Lucky Charm?
Hah, I'm a horrible writer.

Now, I think what captures my inspiration is the sound of music.
It depends on what mood I try and flesh out in a particular story.
Most songs being voiceless, as it settles the imagination, without any verbal interruption.

Your mind really does the work---something that comes to you, really.

The only villain songs I can think of from the movies are "Professional Pirate" and "The Witch Is In The House".

I just write whatever comes into my head. Sometimes I like to play music on my CD player while doing it.

I love to listen to fraggle music as I am writing my own . It makes me happy and cheerful to boot..Which may be a bad thing now that I am about to write the most depressing part of my story :frown:
