I remember this image that used to show up at the end of PBS promos during the early 90s. It was against a colorful (though rather darkish) background, and the show's title and the time it came on would be placed on the background. On the lower left side of the screen was a poser shot of Barney the Dinosaur. Right next to him, a poser shot of Big Bird. I only saw it a few times, but I remember it used to freak me out as a kid. Something about Big Bird and Barney just staring at me kind of scared me. Anybody remember this bumper, and know where I could find it? Thanks.

There's a very good chance not too many people are going to know what you're talking about, as back then, most PBS affiliates varied from station to station as far as their promos, bumpers, idents, etc.

They still do. In fact, when we had directv, we got two different pbs stations that had different air times, different logos, different promos, ect.

I had a feeling it was station-prepared. No wonder I can't find anything on it.

They still do.
Yeah, but not really to the same extent as they used to... within the last number of years or so, just about all PBS affiliates have kind of adopted the same promos and bumpers and stuff, and just simply chryon their respective station logo at the end.

Did you not read anything I just wrote? :stick_out_tongue:

They were practically two different channels. They showed the same episodes of the same shows and all, just at different times and stuff...

Yes, I'm just saying not ALL PBS affiliates still use their own bumpers and idents anymore, some just use standard/national promos with their station logo plastered on at the end; but yes, just about all PBS stations have their own different schedules and timeslots for the shows and everything.

Oh yeah, for awhile I thought I was the only one who was afraid of certain logos/bumpers as a kid. After looking around youtube, especially at comments on some of the old NET logos, it turns out a lot of people used to be afraid of certain logos. In fact, the one I mentioned at the beginning of the thread sort of bothered me as a kid.
