I wonder if this is an easy question, or one that is impossible to answer. Does anyone have any idea where the various scenes in The Muppet Movie were supposed to have taken place? For example, where was Kermit's swamp located? Where was El Sleazo Cafe? Where was the restaurant that Kermit and Miss Piggy had dinner? Etc., etc., etc...

We know that the movie ended in California, but I've always been curious as to exactly where it started, and where they stopped along the way.

One of the lines Fozzie sings in "Movin' Right Along" is: Sadly we just left Rhode Island. But Kermit seems to react that that was false.

Well, if the swamps where Kermit was playing in the beginning were the same swamps where he grew up (ugh, its been a while since I've watched TMM), then it would've began in Florida. KSY and The Muppets at WDW confirm this.

I think that was to show the fact that they were utterly lost. As I see it they went everywhere in that one song .

Yes, at one point they were also in Saskatchewan, and it would seem unlikely they'd have needed to cross into Canada.

I had always assumed that Kermit's swamp was somewhere in Florida. I never saw Kermit's Swamp Years, but I would hope it's safe to assume that it's the same swamp.
