Which Muppeteers do you think have limited vocal abilities? I think Frank and Dave.

I don't think Frank considering that the majority of fan favorites were his characters. Frank's fan-favorite characters out-numbered Jim's.

It sounds to me that John Lovelady guy, or whatever his name is has only one voice, so-to-speak, because he used the same voice for the hairstylist Bernie, and when he took on Nigel.

I agree. Plus, he wasn't around long.

Is Bernie from TMS? If so, what episode? I don't recall any "Bernie" from TMS.

I've read several posts in the past that many people think Frank only has two voices that he manipulates, and while I see their point, I find several things very interesting:
• Frank wouldn't perform any voices in the begining because he believed he couldn't.
• Frank wasn't crazy about singing because he thought he couldn't.
• He has more popular and regular characters on SS and TMS then any other performer!!!
Whether or not he can do different voices isn't the issue in my opinion as his range of personalities is very notable. In one special/interview, he was listed as being cited as the greatest puppeteer of all times. Truthfully for the most part, I think most seasoned fans can here a voice and know if it's Frank, Jim or Jerry. So I'm gonna' go the oposite end of the spectrum and say that Dave and Richard have the most extensive range and say Jim and Frank have a more limited range, only they are such brilliant performers that they can almost disguise that.

Its funny how some people say that Frank or Jim or Jerry constantly use the same voice for many of their characters, but I've still been able to pick out who the character is just by listening. It's true that Fozzie and Bert sound similar, but if you listen closer, they are very different. Even Dr. Teeth and Rowlf sound a bit different. Rowlf has more of a southern drawl i think. And even Ernie and Kermit don't sound exactly the same (not Jim's versions anyway). Kermit is a little more in the throat I think. The differences are so subtle, but they are there.
