I wonder if the producers of this video only had a limited budget regarding what guest stars appeared in these videos. The playhouse videos were the only compilations to feature clips with guest stars (and also the only ones to include new linking footage). Later compilations also looked really low-budget and, in some cases, badley edited.

I wonder if certain guest stars refused permission to be featured in the videos (hence some of the odd guest star choices in "Rock Music") or if there were issues with music rights.

I always wondered why parts of "Turn The World Around" was cut on The Muppet Revue.

Even if certain guest stars refused to give permission, Rock Music could have used some extra Electric Mayhem songs instead of using some people who aren't known as rock stars. Unless, of course, henson couldn't get the rights to any Electric Mayhem songs that weren't included.

Muppet Weird Stuff was the only one of these videos to include clips from the movies. I wonder what it would have been like if more movie clips were used. Heres what movie clips I would have included:

The Muppet Revue:
The Rainbow Connection (from TMM)
Happiness Hotel (from GMC)
Scooter at a movie theatre (from MTM)

The Kermit and Miss Piggy Story:
Kermit on a bicycle (from TMM)
Couldn't We Ride (from GMC)
The First Time It Happens (from GMC)
Miss Piggy vs a criminal in central park (from MTM)

Rock Music With The Muppets:
Can You Picture That? (from TMM)
Night Life (from GMC)
You Can't Take No For An Answer (from MTM)

Muppet Treasures:
Hey, a Movie! (from GMC)
Saying Goodbye (from MTM)

Country Music With The Muppets:
Kermits showdown with Doc Hopper (from TMM)

Fozzies Muppet Scrapbook:
kermit and Fozzies dance routine (from TMM)
Moving Right Along (from TMM)
Fozzie at the cave (from MTM)

Rowlfs Rhapsodies With The Muppets:
Rat Scat (from MTM)
I Hope That Something Better Comes Along (from TMM)

Muppet Moments:
the muppets try to get through the gate (from GMC)
stepping out with a star (from GMC)

Here is my list for segments that could have been included on different videos than the ones they were included in (I'm not listing the three generically themed videos).

Friendship
Being Green

Childrens Songs And Stories:

The Garden Song
Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear

Rock Music:
I Get Around
Six String Orchestra
I Get By With a Little help from My Friends

Muppet Weird Stuff:
Gonzo's motorcycle act
mahna mahna
In a Little Swedish Town
Act Natually
Java
The Windmills of Your Mind

Country Music:
Blue Skies
Mississippi Mud

Fozzies Muppet Scrapbook:
Sing

For years I've been wondering why so much good material was left out of this collection, but then it hit me: The Muppet Show has too many great moments for just ten videos. They would have needed to have made several more volumes to truly get all the best moments.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but...I watched the Danny Kaye episode the other day, and I feel like the "Lunchtime" skit would have been suitable for Gonzo Presents Muppet Weird Stuff, don't you think?

Fozzie's Muppet Scrapbook:

Fozzie's magic act
Fozzie's mime act
Fozzie's attempt to saw Otto the robot in half
Fozzie's memory act
Jean Stapleton & Fozzie: "Play A Simple Melody"
I recently saw the back cover for Fozzie's Muppet Scrapbook, and even though it's not in the video, one of the back cover images is of Otto the robot in drag. Fozzie doesn't even appear in the picture. Makes me wonder if that sketch was planned and taken out last minute.

In fact, most of the images on the back covers are of segments that appear in the videos, but there are also some images from segments that don't appear in the videos (like a picture of the Snerfs on the back of Muppet Moments, and a picture from the Sherlock Holmes sketch in Rowlf's Rhapsodies). Makes me wonder if they were planned for those videos and dropped at the last minute or what.
