Hey guys...long time lurker first time caller....

I'm thinking of getting Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal on dvd....but there are three versions listed on Dvdsoon. One seems a normal edition....another the suberbit -more expensive...and the last is a collectors edition which is going for about $45.

My question? Which one? I'm a stickler for extras but if they're not work paying double then I won't go for them..

your advice?

Well, if you're into extras, you can skip the Superbit releases, because they have no extras at all. The picture and sound quality is a little better on the Labyrinth Superbit than the original release, but the Dark Crystal Superbit is not a noticeable improvement over the original release. But without any of the good extras from the original releases, it's hard to recommend the superbits.

Both the original releases come with some nice extras, including hour-long documentaries, so you'd probably be happy with them.

The Collector's Editions both have a few additional extras over the original release. I haven't seen them so I can't say if they're worth it or not. But the website DVD Movie Guide has some good reviews comparing the collector's editions with the other releases:

Their opinion is the new extras aren't worth the extra price.

I noticed you are in Australia so if you havent already joined the Muppets Downunder forum we'd love to have you aboard.

Before you go buying Labyrinth from overseas, theres been some news of it coming out on Region 4 DVD in Australia in Feburary. It may be just a rumour but I would expect it out early next year.
