Hi all,

I saw an auction for a loose Bert figure who was for some reason sans apparel.

I did a little research and came up with these Knickerbocker 'action figures' with removable clothes from 1980...

I'm definitely interested in getting these to go with my Palisades Muppet Show collection (Bert and Ernie did appear on the show a few times, and I could even make a little tuxedo outfit and tophat for Bert, for his appearance in the Connie Stevens episode!)

Did Knickerbocker produce any other 'action figure' type toys in this same size?

What prices can I expect these to command? Any advice here would be very welcome.

I didn't know Knickerbocker made action figures with removable clothes... I just have mine from when I was a baby... but I may have to update that page from the Wiki, because my Big Bird, Oscar and Cookie look nothing like the ones pictured (also, I have Elmo, Ernie and Bert, and Telly).

First of all, I love that avatar. I've only recently discovered the NC, and I've been gorging myself on his vids.

Second, I found someone selling a naked Bert and won the auction for a very small amount. I just wanted to see what scale these are compared to the Palisades Muppets, and he looks really good... aside from being au naturel.

If anyone has both Bert and Ernie for sale, with their clothes, please let me know!

Yeah, I actually already had a Cookie Monster (minus the apron and hat) and a Big Bird (whose neckerchief and vest I removed) but didn't realize they were all part of the same 'Play With Me' group.

The Muppet Wiki entry has since been updated with more pics and info, and I personally now own an Ernie... but still lack a shirt and pants for Bert.

And just over a year later, I finally have a Bert complete with his clothes:

Ironically, he arrived the same day I had a preliminary meeting about directing a production of Little Shop of Horrors in October, so the Muppet muses are smiling upon me.
