My cat does stuff like that all the time.I meant to answer you before tutter_fan,but I got sidetracked. Cats understand us more we think we do.Here's a purrfect..er.. perfect (misspelling intended.) example-my cat Spencer:
When I'm not feeling well, Spencer lays in bed with me.The other day, I had a headache (it wasn't overpowering but it but it was bad enough to make me feel blah) I had just gone on the computer when all of a sudden I felt a paw patting my leg. It was Spencer! So I finished what I was doing on the computer & went back to bed. Spencer spent the WHOLE day on my bed with me!(with a couple of litterbox and & going to eat some food breaks.) I was telling someone that either Spencer was trying to reassure me that HE wasn't sick & going anywhere or he was keeping an eye on me.
