I have a Kermit puppet but he doesnt have his dimples features.I was wondering can this be rectified or does it have to be done during first construstion?I am thinking that maybe cheek implants could be added but not sure how to go about it.Should it be something hard like styrofoam to keep the shape and how would it stay in position?Would it have to be glued somehow to the mouth peice? How is Kermit's dimples acheived usually-by stuffing or pulling threads like apolestry buttons?

, the actual kermit has no stuffing or foam, the only thing giving shape is JIm, or Steve's hand(or who ever else happens to be puppeteering these days), the "cheek shapes u speak of are all in the patterning and attaching of the skin to the mouth plate, the toys availible exagerate certain features and omit other for production runs,to acheive a look that aproximates kermit.

Is there anyone here who feels like publishing a tutorial on how to pattern and attach to achieve that look?

I think it's just the way that the fabric folds around the mouth when it's shut. There was a thread awhile about about a pattern from Women's Day 1969, which can be found here. It's a typical Anything Muppet pattern. For fun, I actually used this pattern to make my own hand puppet. And it sort of does that too. Which leads me to believe it's the way the fabric folds around the mouth.
