I recall a skit with Kermit Luis and CM. It was funny in that Luis made Kermit(and the TV audience) believe that when Luis blew into a banana, it sounded like a horn. Eventually he revealed that he had a horn in his other hand that you didn't see at first. I forgot what the theme of the skit was all about, but I know cookie monster came along and ate the horn instead of the banana. Anyone remember any other details? It was kind of clever.

I recall a really old sketch like the one you're describing. However I thought it was Gordon "playing" the banana, since this sketch may actually pre-date Luis on the show. I thought the other character was Ernie (coulda been Kermit).

There were a number of other musical instruments present on the wall. When Cookie Monster came along, Ernie/Kermit asked which item was not like the other. CM promptly replied that it was the banana. When they asked why the banana was different, CM said: "Because the whistle, you EAT!" He proceeded to consume it, followed by each of the other instruments. Finally, only the banana was left; CM picked it up and said something beginning with "but everyone knows..." and played a quick flute-like tune on it. I distinctly remember CM's final line: "...and the harmonica was delicious."
