Here is what msn.com had to say.
ABC, For Shame: Because nothing says "TV Excellence" better than a piece of felt with a hand shoved up it, ABC tapped Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy to work the red carpet. As the Muppets bantered with "Apprentice" villain Omarosa (creating a Bermuda Triangle of suckiness), we felt our will to live slowly slipping away.
Shame on them!

Oh no! I can't believed that I missed watching Kermit and Piggy do the Emmys, regardless of how badly thier characters were handled by thier puppeteers. Maybe they'll get book for another awards show.

I loved it! I thought it was great exposure for our favorite couple. I've been so worried that nothing would be done with the Muppets until this Disney "WoOz" movie came out, so to see Kermit and Piggie was very heart warming.

Ahh, a challenge. I think they can do it--there's enough general goodwill out there for the Muppets that can be tapped into if they are handled right.
I definitely agree Andy.
