Did anyone notice that Kermit had many different homes on SS? Take for instance in the Kermit and Grover skits he lived in a house. In the songs Bayou Alphabet, When I Listen and On my Pond he lived in a swamp. In Elmo's World: Frogs he had an apartment. Why is that?

In those songs I don't think it's actually stated that he lived in those swamps. I never thought of those as his home.

And I wonder if his usual homes were houses or apartments. His living room at least has changed a few times. In the 1980s it the wallpaper was solid green as opposed to having detail. And I wonder if the home in the "bus stop" sketch was the same as in other '80s sketches... The green looks a different shade to me, and I feel there's something else different that I can't quite pinpoint...

Maybe Kermit simply moved around a lot?

I mean, that's my only theory, based solely on experiences.

Yeah, Kermit does seem to have bad luck with his homes... Grover accidently flooded the house while tryign to fix a faucet (though this shouldn't bother Kermit... He's a frog, after all, and frogs can live underwater), Grover's weather machine caused it to rain inside, the monster fix-it team couldn't fix the leaky faucet without having to damage something else, a bus drove right into Kermit's living room... I guess it's best he moved out and into the Muppet boarding house (I wonder what caused the Muppets to move into an apartment building by the time of Letters to Santa).

Then again, Kermit is a celebrity. It seems to me like quite a few celebrities have multiple homes.

The life of a jet-setting frog celebrity.

We know Kermit was born and raised in the swamp and often goes back to visit. Kermit tends to have his places on Sesame Street messed up or destroyed via various acts of fate (or monsters) which no doubt have necessitated some moves or severe redesigns.

Then of course you gotta figure a frog of that high stature has planes in California, London, probably some odd smaller states for getaways (vacation or Miss Piggy)

I suspect that Kermit actually still owns the apartment on Sesame St., but just uses it when he is in town. As noted, he's not the average frog and can afford such luxuries. Incidentally, I think the actual location of the apartment was down the street (to the left, off camera) from the Fix-it-Shop.
