I just heard a sketch on MC radio with Cookie Monster reciting a Cookie Poem, there was this AM muppet Howie that was in the sketch with him that sounded like he was being performed by Karen Prell. Anyone here that can clear this up?

Nope, it was Fran Brill as Howie the lop*. The clip dates back to 1970, and recently aired in the previous season of Play With Me Sesame. Its soundtrack was used on the "C Is For Cookie" LP (one of the records I grew up with ), which was heard on MC Radio. However, if I never saw the clip on video, I would never have guessed what was up with those boings heard at the beginning and end.

*A lop is a breed of rabbit whose ears hang down, in case you didn't know.

I know what you mean. If I didn't know that Howie was a lop, I would swear that this was one of those talking pink rubber balls. Know what I mean?

Two questions remains in my simple mind on this topic:
1. His opening line, "Hi there, it's me, Howie!" makes me wonder whether he was a short lived character, and thus indicating -I'm back again!

2. Do you suppose this was a joke about the rabbit called "Harvey?"

The only other place I've seen this rabbit show up is in "Has Anybody Seen My Dog?" as one of the incorrect animals Grover brings. I wouldn't be surprised if those two skits were shot on the same day.
