hey all,

I just submitted my character Batfink o the gallery at Project Puppet dot com.

He's really a wild "chop shop" of the Punto puppet head pattern (which actually is most of his body.. not his head!) and the Glorified Sock Puppet pattern with some simple but major changes. I added a 1" strip down the center of the face so he'd be "broader" and created a foam skull to fit inside.

I used rubber toilet gasket for his mouth pallete so it would be really moveable and squishy. The gasket material is a tad too thick to be really malleable, but it should be fairly tough over the long haul. And by not seperating the upper palette and the lower palette, the corners of his mouth tend to stay open in an expression of dis-satisfaction even when his mouth is closed.

Hopefully he'll be up there soon so you all can see him!

I saw this one earlier today. Really nice work. And to use another headpattern for the body seems to work hehe.

Wonderful puppet! And I'm very impressed with your knowledge of Big Daddy Roth! Your knowledge of such a classic underground cartoonist combined into a well designed puppet impresses me on several levels. Great work all around!

Yes.. he really IS a slice&dice job.... but I gotta say that the convenience of STARTING with the Project Puppet patterns is beyond compare. I accomplished this puppet in two days. Flat. ABSOLUTELY worth the price of the patterns. No doubt.

There's still a little finessing that needs to happen, but the major portion of him is done. I could put him on camera tomorrow and feel good about it.

Thanks a bunch Project Puppet!!
