So I actually asked my friend Mike who's also a stoner - those are actually the safeties. Many stoners take them off so they can light the weed more easily.

Also, on a random note:

So, I watched the video where this picture came from, and it turns out the people in the video making them were actually using fudge for the bread portion, which is why it has that shiny, glossy, platic look. So you're essentially eating a candied cookie cat sandwich. Where as these:

Look like they were used with actual ice cream sandwich bread.

Yeah, I actually never took them off when I used to smoke weed instead of vape it.

They're on there for a reason - so you don't burn yourself when using them.
