Wow! That's such a different time that I wonder if it would pass with kids today?
I'm not sure it even passed with the original audience it was intended for. I grew up in the 80's, and saw all the 80's style and 80's ads... and even I don't see the appeal of bubblegum rolls popping out of someone's eyes whose face is on an old timey mantle clock.

Even crazier is the fact that girl somehow likes it enough to be attracted to the kid whose face it is... ewwwww....

And I would HATE to see that Bubble Yum the Movie that's playing at that theater... it's probably that clock for 90 minutes.

(see what happens when your mind wanders about stupid stuff? :insatiable: )

Funny thing about the Pinata commercial.... there was a commercial for Viva Pinata that was pretty similar.... Hudson Horestachio (they come up with the most embarrassing to say names for these things, don't they) pledged if the kids let them free, he'd give them favors in return. He doesn't. runs off and says "That's called acting, Children!"

Gotta admit, I liked that one better...

And here's the one I was talking about (first one, too. No need to go searching for it)

Really... how was any of that cool. It looked just silly to me. Certainly doesn't make me want to chew any gum... quite the opposite. And how does being on a watch make you cool (unless you're a certain mouse)?

Hmmmm... you know, maybe these old commercials aren't better than new ones.
I dunno, it makes me want gum :3. But then, I like bright and colorful and even cheesey :excited:...and I've always had a weakness for bubblegum..Mmm, Bubbletape:hungry:.

Used to love Bubble tape! I used to take all six feet and chew in in my mouth in an attempt to make a really gian bubble. It didn't work out too well though, heh!:coy:
