Well, I think once the actual answer appeared we took it upon ourselves to play the Muffin Man.

I love Johnny Fiama and Sal Manilla and Ma Fiama and want to see more of them all!!

I think they are great characters. What is the process in developing a new Muppet?

As with anything, it's probably the writer who creates the characters. they write the story and script, the puppet builders take the script and make a character based on any descriptions in the script or from a character designer, and then they build that character. The performer takes the script and the character and adds in the personality to get the character we all will soon know and love.

Johnny Fiama and Sal Manilla the monkey are two of the muppets that populated the 1996 show Muppets Tonight, which didn't last very long. Johnny is a lounge singer from New Jersey, and Sal is his henchman, and pants-ironer. They bicker a little but both have really crazy characters and are alot of fun. Johnny is played by Bill Baretta and Sal is played by Brian Henson.
