You know what stinks? I never really watched "8 Simple Rules", but I've seen a few of the episodes since Ritter's death, and I've realized it's a pretty good show. Makes me wish I had watched it before.

Reminds me of when Phil Hartman died. I did not have a real idea who he was at that point, but soon after "NewsRadio" became one of my favorite shows through reruns on A&E, and Phil's Bill McNeal became my favorite character behind Jimmy James.

just saw on ABC during the OU Texas A&M game (wasn't that a massacre?) that they will be rerunning the show tonight...it got 28 million viewers.

they will? wow, that's cool. i never did get to see it last tuesday because i was in san antonio for a few hours. but now this gives me the chance to watch it. thanks for the info sarah.

i watched the episode last night on abc. man that was such a sad episode. i didn't cry but i felt extremly sad and i knew what those people were going through, even if it was just a tv show. i kept on thinking that any minute john ritter will come walking through the door with one of those goofy smiles he carries with him and his kids start the usual arguements with john's character. but it never happened. i really have to commend the writers on the show for doing such an outstanding episode. i'm sure it was really hard for them to write it out and i'm sure they, at times, couldn't do it because of the sadness they felt.

all in all, that had to be one of the best episodes i've seen on television.

by the way, it felt weird that there was a little humor thrown in but there wasn't the audience doing their usual laugh as sitcoms usually go. but i'm glad they didn't do the laugh thing.

That was quality tv...done with CLASS. No cheesy laugh track, no bad jokes, none of that. I really liked what they did with the concept of his final article and how he loved his family so much. It's not often tv makes me so emotional.

I watched that episode while I was babysitting on Saturday night. It was so sad. I completely broke down in tears when I watched it, which is unusual cause I was never John's hugest fan or anything. Just knowing the emotions that were being portrayed were, in a way, real just tore at my heart. Thank goodness the kids I was babysitting had already gone to sleep or else they would have thought I was the queerest babysitter they've ever had.
