John R. Dilworth's Kickstarter for a New Dirdy Birdy Cartoon

Are you a fan of John R. Dilworth?

John R. Dilworth is the creator of the Cartoon Network series "Courage The Cowardly Dog" and has done a number of Independent Cartoon films, one of which is a Cartoon Classic and a Big favorite of mine, the 1994 film "The Dirdy Birdy".

Well now John wants to make a sequel to "The Dirdy Birdy" but he needs your help! so if you want to see a New Dirdy Birdy cartoon then go to Kickstarter and help John get this cartoon made!

John has been one of my biggest influences when I was younger and dabbled in cartoons (he and David Feiss both); I heard that there was a redux of THE DIRDY BIRDY that he was screening for the 20th anniversary that included an additional minute of footage that was originally cut from the film because he felt the film was running too long.

But a sequel to THE DIRDY BIRDY? Hmm, that should be interesting.

Here's THE DIRDY BIRDY REDUX, with a new intro by John plugging the Kickstarter campaign, and it does indeed include the previously cut sequence - kind of sad but still amusing.

Well apparently this isn't going to happen after all, Dilly didn't raise enough funds to make it happen.

It's a shame that the likes of Zack Braff and Spike Lee have ruined Kickstarter for the little people like Dilly - people who genuinely need money to fund their projects; people like Zack Braff and Spike Lee are at a point in their lives where they should be giving money back, not asking for more.
