I remember hearing that she did a few docs back in the 60s..pre SS about poor uneducated kids in US and other countries (i think...dont hold me to it)

Last night, Joan Ganz Cooney was thanked by Thomas Lennon, the producer of "The Blood of Yingzhou District" when he and Ruby Yang won the Oscar for Best Short Documentary. so she was involved in that in some capacity, though not for any official credit.
