I was watching the Hub, and they were airing the Great Muppet Caper. Within one of the scenes of the fancy dining restaurnt, I saw a scene where Jim Henson was sitting at a table with a woman. I find it odd, as Jim Henson really didn't appear within his movies, as he's voicing the muppets as well as controlong them.
Although From what I heard, the bike scene was done with various wires being tied to all the bikes to keep them going. Jim's son was in that scene as well. All those bikes were being pulled the guy riding the bike in the front of the line.
I never really saw Miss Piggy being showcased really fancy within her fantasy. I guess alot of people have fallen in love with her.

Jim has a cameo in the Muppet Movie as well (but I forget where). Usually, if he is not needed as a Muppet performer he might as well have a cameo in his films.

Pretty good list here...

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Jim_Henson_Cameos

Doesn't list one for the Muppet Movie itself, but they've got the hansom cab driver from Muppets Take Manhattan, which was the first one I thought of.

And the one in the Muppet Babies music video, I always liked that one.

And they've even got the one from the non-Henson production "Into the Night".

Into the Night was directed by John Landis, who has a trademark of putting other directors in cameos in his movies, and himself cameos in MTM as Lenny Winesop.

Landis also performed Grover in the 'Magic Store' finale of TMM, and has cast Frank Oz in several of his films (Blues Bros, American Werewolf in London, Blues Bros 2000, Spies Like Us, Trading Places... probably others I just don't recall right this moment).

On the subject of cameos, did you know Frank Oz was supposed to have a little scene in Superman 3? But it got cut out. You can find it on YouTube, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s52rDP0FQf8

Sources also say he supervised some puppetry sequences, which were also cut, but I haven't uncovered much more about that.

Steve Whitmire does a cameo in "The Muppet Movie"; he's in the crowd watching the final of the beauty pageant.

Haha... he probably had another puppeteer working the character and just did the voice over later.
