... "The Jim Henson Hour"? Here's the main picture: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=60402&item=4015994137 ... there are more. Anyway, I had never heard of this show before. When did it air? ...
Anyone remember this show?

Remember it! LOVED IT!! Wish they'd put it on DVD and Video. All we have is a few video tapes from tv and they didn't show all of them in our area network either :frown:.

The problem now is that the Muppet portions of the JHH are owned by Disney, while the Storyteller segments are owned by JHC. So we probably won't see the show on video or DVD anytime soon.

At least not the entire thing. Besides, we already have Storyteller on DVD, and Monster Maker/Living With Dinosaurs aren't all that great anyway. I'm not sure who owns Song of the Cloud Forest of Miss Piggy's Hollywood -- my best guess is that Disney at least owns the Miss Piggy one. Could Forest could be anybody's property.

There's always licensing, anyway, if they wanted to keep the episodes intact. But, sadly, I DOUBT Disney will put this out anyway. The only series I can easily see being made would be Muppets Tonight, seeing as that was shown on ABC, which is owned by Disney (plus it was shown on Disney Channel for a few years).

Exactly what I was thinking. I want to say Henson, but I'm just not sure. As for Dog City, while Rowlf (now owned by Disney) is in it, it is probably owned by Henson since it features mostly non-Muppet (if you know what I mean) characters. Oy...

I'd say that the two non-traditional JHH (Dog City & Secrets of...) are both totally owned by Disney since they don't contain any Creature Shop stuff. If that is the case, Cloud Forest would have to be owned by them since it isn't a live-action performace like MM/LWD are. Lighthouse Island is probably still in the hands of Henson, though.

I ditto your oy...

DOG CITY is still owned by henson, as is the TV series of Dog City,

disney only wanted the rights to certain muppet things, (IE. muppet show, muppet movies, bear in the big blue house(since they coproduced it nad henson got half the royalties to from merchidise)

Weird. There should be some official list complied of what they have and what they don't so all this confusion can be ended.

I don't get why they didn't just license the entire shows anyway. It's not like Disney is short on cash or anything...

Then again, as big of a fan of the show as I am, I doubt it would fair too well commercially (comparative to other Muppet productions like TMS that are more commonly known).
