I read at the old Henson site that JHC and Capital Cities/ABC formed a five-year partnership to create high-quality family television programming in 1996. Anyone know what happened with that?

The deal was agreed to in 1995 back when Muppets Tonight was in the planing stages called "Muppets Live". At the time it included Muppets Tonight and the series Aliens in the Family. I don't think Disney bought ABC until the following year.

They made Muppets Tonight and Aliens in the Family, there were talks of some more projects. But when Aliens in the Family tanked its first season, and Muppets Tonight never got past a second season, they decided not to move on with other projects.
