Mediacom is supposed to be releasing a set of Kubricks based on the Seame Street line. For those of you who do not know them, Kubricks are kind of like the little People who come with the Lego playsets. I have the Marvel superheros and the Reservoir Dogs, they are pretty cool.

I had some Japanese Sesame Stuff tonight for dinner...it was delish!

But seriously...love Kubrick style stuff...why don't I buy them? Cause as a person in PD I know what the actual unit cost would be on an item like that and they are WAY overpriced.

Interesting note on the Kubricks, Mr. My Company Made A Kermit In A Lunchbox That Sells For $100.

Actually at retail the Kubricks aren't all that much. I only paid $7.95 for the set of Reservoir Dogs. On ebay stuff does tend to go crazy. I think alot of the prices are driven up at auction by folks who get impatient. In the regular market, I see Kubricks all the time for under $10.00 for a set of 4.

Not too bad, the Dogs all have weapons, interlocking bases, stickers with battle damage, alternate faces and a background. Better than some US toys, (Though not The Muppets, of course!) I will pursue a set of the Sesame Street ones, they should be cool enough. Why don't you just swing by Japan on your next trip to the factory and greab a few sets, should be on your way:wink:

Wow. I've always thought they were overpriced. Could I be a toy industry prodigy of some sort?

I just personally see no reason for me to buy them. The only really cool license (that I like, anyway) they make that I would have considered buying is Planet of the Apes, but now there is already a new classic action figure line coming out. If I had to choose between scales and figure styles...sorry, little Block-o things, but action figures are going to win out.

Even if a Muppet line was produced, it would take some really big incentive (such as, say, a whole big mess of new characters) for me to collect them along with the action figures.

I'm not trying to step on anyone who does collect them, since the original Japanese intent of the product is cool in which you would buy these boxed "mystery" figures and trade with friends, but the novelty of something like that is gone when the only way to get them is to order the whole arranged set through Diamond or eBay.

From what I read (in the current Toyfare), the Kubricks are going to be the Sesame Street figures, not the Muppet Show. Shoud be interesting...

Do we have any Japan MC members who can fill us in on these? Hopefully they will make it over to the US via Diamond, I think they would be a neat addition to the collection.

cool T shirts too

Prarie, Oscar, Little Bird, even Fat Blue!
Check out the drop down menu on the right side. Let me pull out my ugly american here...
pick the line that has a T shape, then a crooked smiley face, then something like a lower case t, then another of those smiley faces. It will pull up a page of 20 T shirts (and two more on the next page). Click on the right hand magnifying glass icons for pictures of each shirt.

Warrick found some links for the figures. They had Little Bird, Big Bird, The Count, and Grover (those are the ones I remember).

Maybe Warrick can post the link?

They also had a Nightmare before Christmas Kubrick figure, and I went nuts!

I'm going nuts looking at the disney stuff that can be linked from Beaker's SS link above. Some fantasic PVCs not available in the US. And tons of Alice stuff!
