I'm nathan diniz, and I live in Champaign, IL.

I was at the University of Illinois on Friday, and at 2:33 PM, I got thrown out of the place. Apparently, you have to be a "Faculty or staff member, student, or a local school student" to use their services. I was in the rec room just enjoying myself, and I get thrown out?!?!?!?! What do they think I am? A REJECT? :grouchy: :grouchy: :grouchy:

Not really that unusual. Almost all universities have the same policies.

Whoops! I was a little too mad when I wrote this, I should've put "Guest" at the end of this quote. I didn't want to confuse anyone.

Anyways, since this happened to me, It angers me because I pay a lot of money to enjoy their pizza (Sbarro Pizza is the best!) and to play their video games. Since they don't want me there, I guess I'll never go back to this place again (That is, unless they invite me to come back, or if I ever become a student!)

I can see why you're so hurt and angered. After all if you're such a good customer of their pizza parlour and video arcade you'd think that would be enough to qualify you as a guest in their sight.

But to be fair I'd also give them some benefit of doubt if I were you. Perhaps it was a mistake made by somebody new unless you positively know it was people who know who you are that kicked you out.

In any case my friend don't allow it to upset you to the point where you cannot go out and find other venues to enjoy where you're always welcome.

I have a lot of places I can go. It was kinda a Big deal to me, but I figured I'd blame it on my inner ego and move on.

Let me amend my earlier statement. Most universities have similar policies so that those paying for the services such as faculty and students can enjoy them. Most rec centers at student unions are paid for in part by tuition. It is also a security issue. However, my local university does set aside one night (maybe afternoon) that is open to the public. You may want to check with them. Or you could enroll in a class. Not only would you get to use the rec center but also learn something new. How fun!

Oh well, it's no biggie, besides all the pinball machines that I played at the Union were made about maybe 2-3 yrs ago. I guess if it's still good "and it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
