Okay, so I'm watching TV with the closed captions turned on (something I don't usually do) and one of the captions read that a woman was "laughing awkwardyardly". Awkwardyardly? Is that even a word?

Awkwardyardly: (defined) The state of feeling awkward in one's own backyard. Often mistaken with awkwardyardaphobia, the dread fear of standing too close to a yard stick.

Lol, that's funny, Super Scooter!

Seriously though, it's amazing how awful the spelling is on closed captions.

It's absolutely horrible on the news! Then again, I can understand that, because it's a live program. But even alot of pre-taped stuff is dreadful!

One of the worst I can remember was once watching an episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy and Ed for some reason shouted "YUP! YAHOO!" but what did the captions read? "Go Eddy!". Another instant is when Ed was singing a song and sand "stick it out/no need to pout" but the captions read "stick it all the way out".

I didn't know they made many mistakes in captions. I've never really turned the captions on while watching TV.
