Is there a substitute for antron fleece?

You can make your own fleece taking a fabric and brushing it with this tool:

the more you brush it, the more your fleece becomes fuzzy. Then you can shave it or groom it, as you need.
It works very well with polyester knitted fabrics, but also with wool or viscosa or blended fabrics.

I looked through the forum and didn't see anything on this, I apologize if it's posted somewhere else.

I'm extremely new to puppet building. I've done a lot of research online about supplies and such and all I hear about is Antron Fleece and how amazing it is. I've also read that it's not available anymore. Guess I'll never know what I'm missing right? I was wondering what you folks in puppet making land were using instead?

Puppet Pelts has developed a new polyester fleece. It is not quite as fluffy as Antron fleece, but it is far better than Polar Fleece for hiding seams.
