This is a beatutiful special. It takes place in a new Muppet backstage setting, a mixture of Muppets Tonight and The Muppet Show's backstage. Fozzie, Scooter, Gonzo, Rizzo and others try to pull together a show for Jim (who they dion't find out passed until the end of the show, which concludes with a beautiful rendition of "Just One Person") Kermit makes a brief appearance at the end (performed by the first time by Steve Whitmire). Many rare clips are in this, as well as funny dialouge, wonderful puppetry, and lots of cameo guest stars sharing their comments about the appriecation they had for Jim. It's worth the search. Unfortunatley, it's not currently avaible on video or dvd, but many people here have it for trade.

It's one of those things that have the odd effect of being both depressing and inspiring at the same time. Depressing because Jim Henson dies, but inspiring because it makes you realize just how valuable Jim was to so many people's lives. I only saw the show once, but I don't mind telling you, it was very hard to keep a dry eye at the end when the muppets learn of his death. It was handled beautifully, and yet, keeping true to how Jim would have wanted it, most of the show was quite upbeat and funny.
