I think that show only got cancelled because of 9/11. If that never happened, or they did that show in these days, it would have lasted WAY longer than it did.

Daniel
I think the show ended production in the summer of 2001. Maybe Comedy Central stopped airing reruns after 9/11, but I'm pretty sure the show had been cancelled by then.

Anyway, a little more about it for those who may never have seen/heard of the series: it was structured as a spoof of a typical sitcom, only the "house" where the Bushes lived was of course the White House. The show even included a wacky next-door-neighbor and "very important episodes."

I remember a little of That's My Bush! To be honest, I did find it hilarous. I didn't see anything wrong with it, we're allowed to tastefully make fun of our leaders (not everything I've seen that makes fun of Bush has been tasteful though!) I felt bad when the show was cancelled.

Even in disaster, we need to keep a sense of humor about ourselves.

But wait, isn't Dana Carvey known for doing a pretty dead-on impersonation of Bush?

You mean George H. Bush?
Dana Carvey was George H.W. Bush on SNL

Will Ferrell was Dubya

Timothy Bottoms was Dubya on That's My Bush!

I don't know who plays him now on SNL. Is it Seth Meyers? Haven't watched the show in ages.

He was dubya in The Master of Disguise.
Was he?

I remember when Carvey hosted SNL, he and Will Ferrell did a father/son sketch about the Bushes.

Carvey also did an impression of Bush in his first film as a leading man, Opportunity Knocks.
