I recently got the complete series of Fraggle Rock, and I'm thinking about getting the animated series, but I heard mixed things about it. So what do you guys think? Is it worth buying?

I'd say it's a toss up. Casual Fraggle Rock fans probably won't care for the animated series much. But, anyone who's a big Fraggle fan definately would.

The animated series surely fits the Fraggle Rock spirit, but it is quite a bit more... shall I say 'childish' in nature. That's not an all together bad thing. Basically, whereas Fraggle Rock could easily appeal to and be appreciated by both children and adults, the Animated Series is definately has a more child-friendly appeal to it.

With that said, personally, I love the Animated Series, but in a different way than I love the original. To me, Fraggle Rock had and still has a magical aura about it. Fraggle Rock The Animated Series is just plain silly fun.

All in all, I'd say the Animated Series is worth a purchase if you have the funds to spare. --- Amazon has it for $17.49 (or $10 (plus $3 shipping) through Amazon Marketplace).

Think you. I'll try and get it on Saturday.

I love both the live action and cartoon versions of Fraggle Rock! As far as I'm concerned, being something of a completist- I feel like the whole series is complete with the cartoon series. Some fans don't seem to care for the cartoon and that's fine. Others like me really love it and that's good too. I would say it's worth getting- and that's mainly because I think there's some great, funny episodes and cool cameos from Big V Monster.
You could always try to rent it or watch some episodes online first though. For me- I grew up watching both series as a kid, so they're equally memorable to me and I love both.
Okay- don't know if that really helped much, but there you go.:excited:
Wemble no more!:coy:

I like both the animated series and the Live Action. I saw the animated one on TV when I was 12 years old. I liked it for the style of Saturday Morning '80s animation that was expected for it's day. I liked that they made a younger generic version of the series.
Kind of like what they did with the Muppet Babies ABC Always had a differnt version than to the ones they used to show on Fox 28. So I would say yes if you're a hardcore fan of Fraggle Rock then it's defantly worth looking at.

I guess it depends on how big a fan of the animated incarnation of the show you are. If you have Netflix all 13 episodes of the show are currently available to stream instantly.

The animated series isn't bad by any means, not quite up to the quality of the original, maybe... but not terrible. Though, I'm not a fan of the Great Radish Roundup episode... half of it is basically the Fraggles, Doozers and Gorgs getting the dry heaves when they mention Binooni berries.

Having watched a few episodes on Netflix the show's very much a mixed bag. It has a somewhat interesting art style for the time and you can tell that the storyboard artists were trying but... man the voice acting is BAD.
