I've noticed somethign ironic that happens in The Muppets' Valentine Show.

When Mia Farrow enters, Brewster asks "How was your trip over here from England?" And yet a few years later, The Muppet Show would be produced in England and for many guests the traveling would be the other way around. I assume that the special was made in America, but still, a guest star from England traveled to another country to work with the Muppets, and then many guests from America (and some from Canada) would have to travel to England to work with the Muppets.

Condsidering that Jim and his associates were in New York during the early years of Sesame Street, I would not be surprised that these early specials were shot in NYC as well.
