So on the 17-hour drive from Phoenix to Denver, I had a bit of a hypothetical talk with the husband regarding "hey, what would you say if I wanted to move somewhere to further my career"

It ended with "but Canada is even colder than Denver" Then we started talking about socialized health care & how Canada, as America's kid-sister, has now graduated from High School & has gotten a full-ride scholarship to a fine university while the US has just gone through its 8th divorce and 3rd arrest.

I'll let him know that there are I.T. jobs galores in Canada...But the question is, can I use all of my many years of Spanish classes in Canada?

This thread has definitely been hijacked, probably because I'm an American.

It really depends which part of Canada you come to; some may indeed be colder than Denver, but some are warmer.

As far as Spanish goes, we speak French as our second language here. But you don't need to learn it if you're not in Quebec, because we've got a bit of a love-hate thing going on with that province, and some consider it a badge of honour that they don't know how to speak it.

Hey, as long as I can be an inconsiderate American who doesn't learn the language, then I'm happy ;P
