I'm not ready for soldiership yet

As you are all aware from my old signatures I was all set to become a soldier for the Salvation Army for awhile but I've been thinking and praying about the decision and I don't think I'm ready to apply at the moment.

Maybe next year I will be, for now I need to have a talk with the Majors about the issues involved with the position and to discuss what is keeping me from feeling confident now.

It is a lot to consider. I didn't quite know what it required until looking it up. I'm just not the type of person to give 100% to any cause, but I know if one makes such a commitment they should be 100% ready to do so. Good luck. You will know if and when it is right for you.

Have you met Australia's Territorial Commanders; the Knaggs? They are close friends of mine. I am an inactive soldier. I work for the Army, but I don't currently attend a corps. I'd be happy to talk with you about anything, Bill.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to reply Vic.

I haven't met the Knaggs, but I bet they're wonderful people. I have talked to the Major Robinson and I'm certain I'll be ready in the new year to apply fersure. I'm doing a daily reading Bible program this year that takes you all through the Bible to re-familiarize myself with it all and that's one of the reasons why I've deferred my decision.
