If you could remove 3 Muppets from SS, who would you pick?

If you can forever banish 3 muppets from SS, new or old, who would you pick. My choices would be:

1.Elmo, because he speaks in third person & seems to have consumed more of the show than I think is fair.

2. Baby Bear, because he speaks in baby talk, which I would think would also encourage speech impediments, just as Elmo's use of third person reference. Plus, he's pretty boring & doesn't add a whole lot to the show.

3. Telly, because he's also on the boring side & is a habitual worrier. Granted, kids have fears, but Telly is just anxiety ridden.

I'd love to see who everyone else would pick.

My knee-jerk reaction is Baby Bear, but he's kinda growing on me.

So here's my three:


That Freaking tutu-wearing Elephant. Not a defined personality, just a big oaf, and his voice drives me CRAZY.

The entire population of Monsters Clubhouse. If I knew their names, I might pick an individual, but they're on my list.

And....I'll go with Game Show Host Sonny Friendly. I never liked him, he's always been a Guy Smiley wannabe in my book.

She's a great character--probably the strongest female Muppet character EVER on the show EVER.

Well, maybe she doesn't have to be taken off. I guess I just don't like the newer characters. Maybe Rosita would be my next choice, I don't know.

umm, i think i did like elmo at first, but like everyone else, im totally stumped as to how he got so popular! now i cant watch him anymore..

also, i didnt like other little girls when i was a kid and i guess i had the same attitude towards the girl muppets, although i did lik prairie dawn. man, they were soo annoying! i hated watching alice snuffalupagus and grungetta and zoe. i also didnt think ss needed any new muppets. (and as i recall they were new back in my day...)

hmm, i didnt like that placido flamingo, but at the time he was introduced i was in that horrible ‘i hate everthing’ teen phase and secretly thought i was too old to be watching ss anyways…hey, theres a great idea for another thread “do you or did you ever cop flack for watching baby shows….?”

ok, so my answer is, if i could kick off three muppets it would be: zoe, alice snuffalupagus and hoots the owl. ooh, can I say gina too, i never liked her..

I'd say Zoe, Baby Bear, and Elmo. Although I do really like Elmo, I think he has taken too much of the show... and yes, how he talks may be a problem.

I wouldn't take any of the Muppets off of Sesame Street, every single Muppet brings something unique to Sesame Street. You guys disgust me , if it wasn't for Elmo, then all of the little kids wouldn't have someone like him to relate with, I mean c'mon guys, the reason why they put Elmo on the show to began with is to see how well he did, and since he did with the little kids, they brought to us Elmo's World. Remember, the little kids are the ones who Sesame Street is aimed at, little kids like changes (so says my mother).
