"I Was Going To Saint Ives" Questions

While listening to the song on muppet central about the man going to Saint Ives, several questions came to mind. Let's NOT argue over the number going the other way. There is already a thread to address that. It is called "Sesame Street song is *WRONG*" and I would make you a link to it if I knew how.
Anyway here are my questions:
1) Who does the character voices? Is it Jim Henson and Frank Oz, or Jim and someone else?

2)What did the sketch look like? I never saw it.

3)Why do they feature a skit in which a man has 7 wives? Isn't that illegal in this country? I mean I know the whole premise of the skit is ridiculous- how do those wives carry over 300 cats on their backs at one time? Just some thoughts...

Yeah I do think the song is cute. I click on "yes I like this song" every time I hear it. I know that sesame street didn't write it. I've seen it before in a riddle book. But I did have the song stuck in my head driving me crazy, so I thought I'd post about it.
