I never got to see Fraggle Rock

I think I remember watching one episode, but how big were the Fraggles in 1987? My dad tells me they were one of the greatest shows and likes to talk about the time he 'caught a Fraggle'. Can somebody tell me maybe a little bit about the show? What was I missing? :rolleyes:

I'm not sure if the puppet version was on back in 87', but I KNOW the animated one was.
