I just downloaded the Weezer video and now that I've heard more than one word of Steve's Statler, I have to say it is really really good. I'd like to say again that I would LOVE to see Steve do Statler in the new show as well as in future muppet projects.

Wiggy, are are you trying to copy off me?

Just kidding. I agree. They probably shouldn't have went back to Nelson's Statler from the "Sex and Violence" pilot. A lot of people don't remember that. Steve carries on with the Statler that Richard Hunt brought to life.

Again, nothing negative about Jerry Nelson. He's so great with Robin, Pops, Floyd, Crazy Harry, Lew Zealand, etc. But his Statler just doesn't work.

By the way, where did you download the Weezer video? I only heard it on Muppet Central Radio. I'd like to have a download if it will work on my computer.

I downloaded it Kazaa. There are a whole bunck of muppet related things on there. It's a file sharing program like Napster, only it works. I'd send it to you but it's a large file and I have dial up. Also, my e-mail can only send out 16mb anyway.

It was so like Richard's Statler! I don't know why so many people fought me on this issue. If Steve had taken over Statler from the begining I would not have noticed the change nearly as much. Hearing Steve's Statler is just right and I really hope he does Statler from now on.

When people say Jerry does a good job with Statler I respect that opinion. He's a great performer. But again I have to use the example of: "What if Frank died and Richard didn't? Should Richard have taken over Piggy again, changing the character's voice and maybe even performance? No, a character shouldn't be changed that much. Frankly, I think Steve doing Statler in the video, and again for AVMMC, before he was dubbed over, means that in new muppet productions Steve will do Statler. I just hope Jerry starts doing more of his other characters like Flyod. Now that every meber of the EM has a performer, we can't lose Floyd!!!!

Can you tell me how to download something on Kazaa? It might be a while before I hear Richard's Piggy. According to what they told me at Timelife, I should be receiving Volume 11 of the Muppet Show videos this month. Then I'll probably be getting Volume 6, since they skipped over that one before. So it still may be awhile before I get a first season episode with Miss Piggy. I've been listening to Muppet Central Radio a lot lately, but so far I've only caught Frank as Miss Piggy (or Laurie O'Brian if you count "Muppet Babies.") I'm still kicking myself in the butt for missing that Temptation song before.

I think you have to go to www.kazaa.com and download the program. Then the program will give you all kinds of search options. I don't know whta you'll find on there though. It's pretty much a game of chance.

No problem :embarrassed:

On a side note, how come no one else agrees with us on Steve doing Statler? :frown:

Actually, I started a whole thread on that a few weeks ago and it had about two or three pages of replies. Maybe people feel that most of this stuff has already been said.

Oh, by the way. I have another question about downloading Kazaa. Do I want to do the download first or should I just find a specific song I want to download then try it? I really can't find any Muppet songs at that site right now. I don't know whether or not, I'm looking in the right place. I could use more instructions on how to do this.

Thanks, Wiggy. I'm hoping I can find the early Miss Piggy in the "Temptation" song or Steve's Statler in the Weezer videos. What was the name of that song that they did? That would help. Anyway, I appreciate you helping me with this.
