My dad was pulling out of a parking lot and was about to get on the road when he happened to hit a car that was near him, causing damage to his car.

I or my dad didn’t get hurt, but I'm really upset and shaken by all of this.

Something very, very similar happened to me a few years ago: I was pulling into an entrance where some idiot was pulling out of (the wrong way), so I backed up a little to give the guy some more room to pull out so I could drive into the entrance . . . and I ended up backing into somebody behind me, leaving a huge dent in the rear.

Glad neither of you were hurt, but I can understand how upsetting and unsettling it would be.

I'm just glad that the damage didn’t get anymore worse, but we'll have to use a rent a car for the time being until he can bring it to the body shop or something and get it fixed.
