I Could Just SCREAM!!!!

Some people are such idiots!(I have a better word,but it'd get me in trouble)
I post on a cat forum & there was a story about a man who wanted a cat from a humane society.The workers said he looked kind of suspicious.But the jerk took the cat,and shoved her (it was a calico cat.Most calicoes are female) into his jacket & sped off in his car. Anyway,the shelter workers took down his license plate #,and chased the guy in a separate car. By the time they found him,the poor cat had been tortured to death.
There was a picture of the cat posted on the forum that I'm talking about. She was so pretty! The guy that stole her is now in jail.I hope that he ROTS there and when he dies,goes straight down (if you get my drift)!!

OMG! That's the worst story I've heard about animal cruelty!!! Ugh, I'm right there with ya wishing him to his proper resting place. I've got 2 kitties, love them SO MUCH! Can't imagine what I'd do to someone who hurt my cats. Grrr, I'm getting mad, why did I read this?

My girlfriend and I share your frustrations. We were infuriated by a news story we saw tonight where a town in Wisconsin has signed a bill allowing the rifle hunting of stray cats. Our world has been taking some pretty sick twists lately, and none so sick as its treatment of animals, domesticated and otherwise.

I have 2 cats too .Tonight they were both sleeping in my room & when I walked in ,I said to them "I love you two kitties SO much!"
I've owned cats since I was 8. Actually...they've owned me.

Yeah....I read that too. One of the people that posts in the cat site I mentioned lives in Wisconsin,and has a lot of cats(all indoor thank God).She fosters a few too. Anyway..she was horrified when she read about the rifle hunting of the strays.

Oh my God! I can't believe that! I love cats, I have a cat and that just makes me sick. I was already upset about the Wisconsin law that was being debated and this just adds fuel to my fire. Whether you like them or not, cats are one of God's creatures just like humans and should be treated with respect! Sorry to get all preachy, I am a youth minister!

I can't believe that about the stray hunting. Someone is going to end up shooting some poor kid's cat, but nobody will care. I've noticed that in the States, no offense here, but if you like cats you are either a wuss or a crazy person. Of course, it's not much better here in Canada, but at least as a man (married with a small child who loves them) I'm not put into those categories.

Who am I kidding? Even as I typed it I realized that wasn't true. I just like cats better because they are smart, funny, and don't smell as bad as most other pets!!

Too bad about the jerks, though.

Some people are so sick and twisted. I hate cats myself, so I refrain from allowing any in my home. The thought of torturing and killing an animal for the fun of it is disgusting. My dog ran away Monday morning and has not returned. It's knowing that such people exist that has me worried about his safety. Those who purposely maim and torture animals definitely need to be locked up for life and as Katzi pointed out, should be sent straight down the chute after death.

I just noticed this message now. I realize that you aren't fond of cats,but I won't hold it against you. (Some people like dogs better than cats. But this doesn't automatically make them a bad person )

Thanks for understanding. It's nothing personal against cats, I've met a few cool ones in my day. However, the fact that I am allergic to felines doesn't help their cause. It's actually the root of my disdain. If I could hold a cat without getting red and itchy I would likely rank them as high as gerbils and guinea pigs on my favorite animals scale (which would be a little down on the list behind dogs, chimpanzees, penguins, dolphins, gorillas, owls, gibbons, etc.).
