Ah 2001, I was wondering why the format had changed. I prefer the old format naturally.

Yeah, I agree. I watched most of those eps with the exception of Elmo's World. I noticed how interesting it was before the format change. Quite a few of those older sketches are some I remember. Still, even in 2001 things started to go downhill, with more of the show devoted to Elmo and less of the classic skits. I wish they would go further back and we might see more of Grover the Waiter, Kermit's News Flashes, Ask Oscar, etc. It might be a long time before PBS does something like that though. *sigh*
