How to make a Puppet?

Hi everyone, I always wanted to make a puppet. I couldn't figure out how to start one exactly.
Firstly, how do you make the actual puppet part? Like I'll use Kermit for example, I know that Jim made him out of his mother's old jacket but how did he make it a puppet? How'd he make the whole mouth part?
After I get that part done it should be pretty easy, Please let me know how to make one, and I need to make one for my "Man or Muppet" video that I'm making soon for school.

Hi Muppet Fan,

Try searching thru some of the forums, maybe under "building" or "construction". Or try Youtube under Puppet Building for tutorials......it all starts with a pattern and an idea.
