How to Make a Mascot Type Costume?

Can anybody tell me where I can find a good site or information on how to make a mascot type costume? I am especially interested in how to make the head, I have an idea on how I want to make the body. I would appreciate any info on the type of material (foam ect.) that the head is made out of due to breathing and ventilation purposes. Also, is their a certain material that can be used for the eyes that is used to see out of? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you, And happy MOTHER'S DAY!

Otherwise maybe try asking the folks over at the Furry.ca forum - http://www.furry.ca/cgi-bin/furryca/forum/ikonboard.cgi - they're a small group but really in to this kind of thing.

you can always check out grey seal puppet cpmpany. I know they make mascots. THe foam book doens't deal with it really. But i have called and talked to people on the phone there before. They could probably help?
