Muley just appeared on behalf of the UCP http://www.ucp.org/ at a bowling benefit about 3 weeks ago or less!

There are different degrees of Cerebral Palsey (per my understanding) and it would depend on what degree one is in as to whether or not they could perform puppetry--or at least what KIND of puppetry.

Puppetry is inclusive of many different styles. Of course, there's the most popular Muppet-type puppets (the kind I consider that Muley is) and there are marionettes and little hand puppets and so on; but it also comes in the form of story telling with even wooden spoons with faces, or dressed up like a male or female puppet.

I would say, yes, you can puppeteer, Aaron. I think that regardless what level of CP you have, you may find a way to tell stories using objects (puppets), and that would make you a puppeteer.

heck, I remember taping little drawn figures to pencils in grade school and telling a story to the class with those!

Puppetry comes in all forms and styles and techniques, and it's up to you to discover what you can do with it!

Wonder if Buck can add anything to this?

Truthfully, it all depends on how advanced the CP is. If not too much, then go for it. All I could say without knowing you in person or having hands-on work with you is to just grab up a puppet and start trying. Practice makes perfect, and nobody ever learned to do anything without trying first, right? Go for it!

I remember once you posted a link to go to to get your puppets and ideas copyrighted. Where was that again?

Well, Aaron, lemme know when you get here! I will do what I can to help--I think we all know that.

Have you done any work with puppetry at all, or attempted to try? Do you go to church where there is puppetry, and have you talked to them about training you at all?
