Well, I just figured that since JHC and Dave Goelz and Gonzo have all agreed that he is an alien, and he is of the Frackle breed, then all Frackles must be a form of alien--to our planet anyhow--while still remaining of the Muppet Race. Perhaps because they are aliens they would fit under the 'monster' title, I dunno. But, my guesses are based on the facts given by JHC, and had I heard Goelz deny any of it then I could mark MFS as a joke film, but because he accepts it, then I have to see it as canon--especially based on all of Gonzo's history, not fitting in, his longing for the stars, his solo song in TMM. It all points to him being an alien, which is okay because he's STILL a "whatever."

I used to think that Gonzo wasn't an alien. Then I saw MFS and I was pretty mad, it took me like a year or so to accept it but I finally did. It's funny though how in the other movies he's referred to as a "Whatever"
(Great Muppet Caper: the box that Gonzo's in says "whatever" on it and Fozzie's and Kermit's say "Bear" and "Frog". Manhattan: "it's not often that a bear and a chicken and a.. whatever gradutate..." Treasure Island: "Ok, so I'm a rat, your a human and your a.." "a whatever")

(but still, Gonzo is my favorite )

They had to call him a whatever because they didn't know what he was, which was frackle-alien.

I think they should have kept it a mystery. The whatever joke is a great running gag throughout the movies and TV shows. I hope he's still called a whatever, even though we know he's an alien. it's just the way it should be.

I think for sure he'll always be called Gonzo the Great, sic The Great Gonzo; but, now that they know what he is, he probably won't get called a 'whatever' anymore.

Likely, his other nick-names, buzzard beak, turkey, whatever Piggy calls him he...oops! I slipped on my words and said 'whatever.'

Who knows, he's been called a whatever for so long, Kermit and Co. may just keep on going with what they're used to. After all, he's still the same old Gonzo!

No way, I'm totally with you. Gonzo looks more like a....whatever/alien than a frackle.
