Over the past 37 years a lot of different combinations of people worked at Hooper's. Here is a chart of all the people through the years that were working there.

1969-1971: Mr. Hooper worked at the store by himself

1971-1972: Mr. Hooper and Tom worked at the store

1972-1983: Mr. Hooper and David work at the store together

1983-1987: David runs the store by himself

1987-1989: David and Gina work at the store

1989-1995: Mr. Handford and Gina work at the store

1995-1998: Mr. Handford and Carlo work at the store

1998-2005: Alan runs the store by himself

2006: Alan, Gabi and Miles work at the store

Now also over the years, there have been other humans and Muppets who have filled in at the store, for just one episode. Here are some who have

Big Bird
Ernie
Oscar
Telly
Luis
Mike (A short lived SS human from the early 90's)
Susan
Cookie Monster
Natille Portman

You might want to edit the post so that Ms. Portman's name's corrected, from "Natille" to "Natalie".
Just helpin'.

Yeah, who's Tom?

Anyway, here's another little list that might be interesting:

1969-1992: The store has a black and white striped awning with a dirty green exterior, and below the window is the black and yellow checkered pattern. A "Hooper's Store" sign is hanging from beside the awning. To the side, the wall changes from having a mural to going to a plain brick wall.

1993-1998: The store gets a cleaner look, and the side wall goes back to having a mural.

1998-2001: The awning is updated bright red with "Hooper's Store" printed on the front and the side, the exterior is now solid light blue, and the side wall now has another window facing the arbor.

2002-present: The exterior is now orange.

Let's not forget Grover was apparently on duty there in Follow That Bird.

Tom is/was a human character from the early seasons... He was portrayed by Larry Block, you can find him in Episode 355: The Rainy Day episode with the legendary Puerto Rican actor Raul Julia as Rafael and Charlotte Rae as Molly the Mail Lady.
Hope this helps.

It's certainly great trivia to keep in my back pocket, but no, he doesn't ring a bell.
Thanks all the same!
