"His or Her", "His", or "Their"?

I say "them" because it's so annoying to always have to say "him or her"

So just pick one onstead of doing the or. I don't know why we are so pressured by political correctness that we will actually use the language incorrectly just to please some idiot who will get offened if you say his for an unknown gender.

I don't like political correctness at all. It's ruining our cultural in so many ways.

But I'm female and I don't want to be called "his" just because it's the standard. It's an old fashioned, unequal standard. And using "hers" doesn't always work either. The English language is often a pain, but I don't want to be left out of the "standard" and neither should anyone else.

I think you are taking it too personal. It's just how it is. USing his as a general term for a genderless something won't set women's rights back a century, nor will "his or hers" launch us into a time of world peace. Until all of the worlds problems are solved, whether or not you should say "his" should just be left alone. I'll pencile iti n for right after world hunger and right before the sun explodes.

I think people sometimes don't take it personally enough. It's just taken for granted. And things are only "just how it is" until someone changes them.

But I do agree that the "his or her" issue is not as important as other issues. That's very true.

However, a simple change in ours attitudes can go a long way to solving the world's problems.
