Wow...I used to think I would like Mildred alright, but never saw enough o' Hilda to have any opinion on her.

Welp, after seein' more o' Season 1 than I had, my opinions have surprised me.

I like Hilda.

Really.

I do.

She's charmin', cute , and it's amusin' to see one o' the Geritol generation bein' a part o' the chaos wif Kermit and the "younger crowd". She also has some genuinely funny moments! (Particularly the Phyllis Diller episode)

Mildred, however, I don't really care for. :smirk: I used to think I'd like her cause she looks kinda neat. She's okay in "At The Dance", but I don't like her in the panel discussions.

Especially in the Candice Bergen episode when she makes cracks at Piggy all throughout. That's okay when the male Muppets do it, but it just seems "meaner" and more obnoxious when a fellow female (this case Mildred), does it.

Does that make sense? It does to me, just curious if anyone agrees, lol.

So, Hilda, in, Mildred, bin .

What are y'all's thoughts?

I can't wait until next week when my copy of Vol. 5 comes in so I can see more of Hilda again. Since she is a native of Transylvania, I wonder if she ever knew the Count?

I could see it now...

Count: "Ah, my dear Hilda, it is so vonderful to see you again."

Hilda: "Count von Count, you charmer. Vy's dot?"

Count: "So I can count all the pins in your pin cushion! Von, two, three, four..."

Oh, I LOOOOOVE Hilda!!!! She's one of my favorites, actually!!! I was always diappointed she didn't become more of a main chharacter....Or at least wasn'rt used so often....And I'm VERY sad a/b how she seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth as of late!!!

I think they both have their value at the show. I liked them both, but Hilda was a more indepth character. She left of course beacuse Eren left the show. pity...

Guys,

I love both Hilda and Mildred.

Hilda is more of a character than Mildred tho, Because she was seen more Backstage.

As i said in the 'Wayne and Wanda Thread', I think Hilda should be seen again.

It would make me so happy just to have her recognized once again, And it is probably one of the easiest things to do.

In Muppets Tonight they put Mildred in the Opening Titles, For me that was just fantastic.
It was totaly amazing to see Mildred livelier than ever back after all those years !

And then when i least expect it i see George sweep up after Gonzo flies away witha rocket on his back, He looks up grumbles and sweeps his way off camera.
It was a little thing that someone thought of doing, And made me and im sure alot more people VERY happy !

So here im saying it, Do it some more !

"Hilda: Pins and Needles"

"Mildred: Uh, Whatever !"

I'm not for or against either one, really. I like them both. Who I DIDN'T like was the Cafeteria Lady. She bothered me...probably because she looked like this one old woman who used to keep me as a kid.

I never liked the Hilda puppet, but she did have a cute personality. Mildred, on the other hand, was a dynamic-looking puppet. The character has roots that predate the Muppet Show. Yeah, she was a little hard on Piggy a couple times, but who hasn't been? LOL! Mildred for President!

I hated Hilda as I remember her. Maybe if I see her more, I'll get a better perspective, but she just annoyed me. As for Mildred, mmm, no opinion of her really.

Hilda won me over when I was little....She was such a lively old lady, surrounded by all these young wackoes....
I'd just love to see her again, maybe w/some improvements made on the puppet. I'd love to see her fussing over Piggy's costume, while Piggy's having a diva-ish moment, or something. Don't even need to hear her speak. Just would like to see her again.
